You know, I always feel bad whenever I've come up a little late with the irregularity of the posts. Well, at least there's some form of consistency in my inconsistency :)
It's been a month. What've I been up to? So many things. Well, to start it off, I'm finally a civilian! Been released from the army for good, and now it's back to the real world. I only managed to receive my IC 2 weeks after my official release date though. After 2 and a half years, the administrative incompetence of the Singapore Armed Forces never fails to astound (or painfully annoy) me...
So I got delightfully drunk to celebrate of course. What else was there to do? :) One party for the official release date, another for when I finally got my IC back. The memories of those events are still hazy, but I'm thinking the tingly sensation from my liver afterwards is a sign that I had enough to drink :) Thankfully, my friend took pictures of the silly things I did. I'll put them up in here soon (once I figure out how)...
And now? Well, the holiday had to end sooner or later. Dragged my ass out and got a job. Currently into my 4th week at this place called eFusion Pte Ltd. I'm on their telemarketing team, which sells HSBC credit cards. I'm not doing any sales though (thankfully). Too much unnecessary pressure. I'm on their "Fulfillment Team" (does that sound as suggestive to you as it did to me?). What we do is process the applications. Help the telemarketers chase down missing documentation. Simple enough job. I keep a low enough profile so that they give me enough to keep me busy through the day, but with nothing to worry about when it ends :) I only wish I didn't have to work Saturdays too though. Well, it's only another month till I start school. And receive my last paycheck. Heh, give you 3 guess which one I'm looking forward to more...
After getting paid recently, I just had to get myself "Outside Looking In: The Best of The Gin Blossoms". It's a collection of some of the best (duh) stuff by one of the more influential indie-rock bands of the 90s. One song I really enjoy is "Not Only Numb", with the lyrics displayed below.
And that's it. The weekend came and went, and I'm off to get some sleep in anticipation for the next week of work. I'm just happy that there's another public holiday coming this month. You'll see me soon enough :)

"Looking all around the room I see the clutter in the gloom
I’m not only back, I’m not only numb
Changing shades within the evening
In a day then I’ll be leaving
I’m not only back, I’m not only numb
When the air at home is thin
Getting out then looking in
Yeah she knows, she knows, she knows

It ain’t awful hard to tell
What it’s like, my little hell
Yeah she knows, she knows, she knows
I’m now familiar with the tone I hear in bed when I’m alone
I’m not only back, I’m not only numb
In the shade below the eaves
Think I could chain smoke anything
I’m not only back, I’m not only numb
When the air at home is thin
Getting out, then looking in
Yeah she knows, she knows, she knows

It ain’t awful hard to tell
What it’s like, my little hell
Yeah she knows, she knows, she knows
She knows, she knows, she knows
She sees all the cars around the parking lots of bars we’ve played and stayed
Started laughing, looking down upon the bed that we’ve made
We’ve made, we’ve made, we’ve made
She sees all the cars around the parking lots of bars we’ve played and stayed
Started laughing, looking falling down across the bed that we’ve made
We’ve made, we’ve made, we’ve made

The air at home is thin
When getting out, then looking in
I’m not only back, I’m not only numb
Changing shades within the evening
In a day, then I’ll be leaving
I’m not only back, I’m not only numb..."
