Alright, so here we go. So it's been more than a month, and what's been happening? A lot. Well, not really a lot. Just one thing. It's a big thing though (as many women in my sordid past will attest to :) ). Seriously though, just one major thing has happened recently, and I didn't want to talk about it earlier, 'cause I didn't want to jinx it. Recently though, it seems to be a sure thing, so I figure, why not? Heh, you guys itching to know yet? :)
Okay, check this: on 18 June, 2006 (this coming Sunday), I'll be flying to Tokyo, Japan for 4 days and 3 nights. Now here's the clincher: It's all free. But that's not the end of it. Oh no, the biggest bit of it is that I'll be flying there to catch the Tokyo Gala Premiere of Mission Impossible III, and afterwards, having a meet-and-greet with Mr. Ethan Hunt himself, Tom Cruise!
Okay, I know what you're thinking at this point of the post, and the answer is, "No, I have not been drinking/smoking/consuming any illegal substances." I would like to, but that's another story :) Lemme break it down for you guys and tell how it happened. As a registered member of MTV Asia's website, one of the things I enjoy doing there is entering the random contest. So, less than a month ago, I get a call, telling me I've won an all-expenses paid trip to Tokyo, Japan to watch Mission Impossible III and meet Tom Cruise. Needless to say, once I regained consciousness, I went ape-shit. In the days leading up to this week though, there was still a big part of me that didn't quite believe that I had won. Not yet anyway. I figure it'll fully hit me once I'm on the plane and my cute Chinese ass is flown right through to Narita Airport :)
And there we go. Believe it or not :) I'll be heading there with Denise, and with each passing day, we are going nuts :) We'll be bunking at the Park Hyatt Tokyo, the very same hotel where the movie "Lost in Translation" was filmed. I think the only thing I'm a tad disappointed in is that I won't be there for the Summer Sonic festival. Kinda like Japan's Woodstock. It spans an August weekend (the 12th and the 13th to be more exact), and 7 stages, and it'll be headlined by acts like Metallica, The Deftones, Muse, Daft Punk, DJ Shadow, The Flaming Lips, TOOL, and Nelly Furtado, to name a few. Well, I'm sure I'll get over it :)
Okay then, that's that. The secret's out, and I have to get back to my project. Hey, just 'cause I won a prize doesn't mean that I'll neglect my responsibilities (as tempting as the notion can be at times). I still have a deadline and an exam to worry about when I get back. That'll be 21 June, Wednesday afternoon, for anyone who's wondering :) And don't worry my lovelies, I'll bring back plenty of visual proof to ogle over too. P.S. Sorry ladies, it doesn't look like Jonathan Rhys Meyers will be making an appearance, so don't bother passing me any of your undergarments to pass to him...
