Okay, one quick post, because I have to :) Henceforth, Laurence shall now be known as Miss July. Why? This conversation I had with him earlier about my parents particulars for a travel and health insurance plan for my trip will explain :)
Laurence: Okay, I need your mother's full name.
Me: Oh, it's Julie Susanto. She's using her maiden name.
Laurence: So that's J-U-L... Erm, Y?
Me: (long pause) No Laurence, it's J-U-L-I-E.
Laurence: Oh, right. J-U-L-Y is July.
Me: *sigh* Yes Laurence, that's right.

Okay, so here's what I'll do. I won't finish off my December update for last year just yet (and yes, I can hear all of your eyes rolling). Instead, I'll tell you what I'm doing right now. Why? I'll get to that soon :)
Right now, I am painstakingly ripping my CDs. Not for any illegal purposes (perish the thought). I intend to squeeze all the songs into one (yes, one) CD, using Sony Atrac technology. What this means, apparently, is that I can squeeze up to 400 songs into one standard CD-R. Now, why would I be needing to do this? Well, it's finally here. No, not my period you buffoons... OKLAHOMA! That's right boys and girls, the day is finally here. I'll be flying off to Oklahoma this Wednesday (the 18th), and I'll be back on the 15th of May. For all of you who haven't been reading (or basically trying to keep in touch with me), shame on you. SHAME I SAY! Now that I've gotten the weak attempt at a guilt trip out of the way, I'll just remind you all again that it's all part of my MDIS degree program. So I'm ripping and hopefully, burning everything into a single CD later for easy storage and carry :)
With any luck, I'll feel motivated enough to update everyone regularly enough on what's going on there. Though considering how often I update when I'm already here in Singapore, don't hold your breath :) Who knows? Maybe the difference in time zones might make the difference... NAH :) Whatever the case is, I hope to get back here safe and sound, and maybe with a couple of interesting stories to share. And for those who know me and wanna get in touch? Heh, I'm sure you know how :) I'll see you lot soon enough. For now though, I shall leave you with a song I have deemed appropriate for an occasion like this (though pray that I do not end up in a similar situation as the singer *insert much touching of wood*). This is especially for my baby, just to remind you that I'll be back home soon enough, and that you'll hardly notice that I've been gone. I love you :)
"All my bags are packed I'm ready to go
I'm standing here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breaking it's early morn
The taxi's waitin he's blownin' his horn
Already I'm so lonesome I could die
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe I hate to go
There's so many times I've let you down
So many times I've played around
I tell you now they don't mean a thing
Every place I go I'll think of you
Every song I sing I'll sing for you
When I come back I'll bring your wedding ring
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe I hate to go
Now the time has come to leave you
One more time let me kiss you
Then close your eyes I'll be on my way
Dream about the days to come
When I won't have to leave alone
About the times I won't have to say
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
'Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe I hate to go
I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go"
